...welcome to the new nightmare, someone did say something about the grass been green on the other side..now that we are on the other side we wait for 485 to be current while we renew EAD/AP each year, fingerprint every 15 months and aviod the namecheck black hole...maybe this is what they(uscis) wanted after all...a steady income stream...good luck :)

I don't know if anybody has noticed it but the dates for EB-2 for VB October 2007 was April 1, 2004 and for VB October 2008 is April 1, 2003. That is a retrogression of 1 year - not good. :mad:

How do you guys get this daily update.. going by this, it will take them 2 months just to clear first 2 days of july - even after assuming all receipts issued are for I-485 cases, which is far from truth!

I talk in USCIS standards. They mentioned in last weekly report that they are compliant till 7/1/2007 but actually that was 6/29/2007.
Nothing happens in weekend - so i mentioned Aug 12th as Today's date :D

I see that we all are very busy fighting amongst ourselves. Did all of you get a chance to "Digg" the story so it gets maximum publicity possible? This is the only story so far that carefully analyzes the 485 fiasco and longer it runs the better it will be for us.
Please take a min and digg it. You'll be doing yourself a favor.

Even under PERM, Atlanta office is backed up. They're still evaluating February applicants its not moving at all. I know its not bad compared to BEC but for some its still bad.

This might be just a way from DOS to USCIS to say bring their house in order... do not advance dates until you know the what the accurate demand is.....

The CIS estimates have proven to be very high resulting in: 1) the �unavailability� of all Employment Third preference categories beginning in July, 2) the �unavailability� of numbers for China and India Employment Second preference adjustment of status cases during September, and 3) the establishment of many October Employment cut-off dates which are earlier than those which applied during FY-2008.
Little if any forward movement of the cut-off dates in most Employment categories is likely until the extent of the CIS backlog of old priority dates can be determined.

I have talked to a representative and he very patiently explained me about the mess.
He clearly and very clearly told me that they have a deadline to send all receipts for June end and July 2nd filers by friday (tomorrow) or worst case monday.
He mentioned that they are working hard to meet this deadline.
Hope this clears the anxiety.
