I think I am in a similar situation with you.Me and my kids are also separated from my wife for almost a year now. It was really a big mistake on my part not to join her on her Embassy interview thinking visas were plentiful.BIG MISTAKE. I was at that time not well informed about visa availability.Our PD is Nov 05 and I am from the Philippines. I do feel what you feel. It is an emotional roller coaster ride. Are you derivative beneficiaries of your wife's Sched A petition and what country are you from? If you dont mind me asking.

As per the tracking no. given by my lawyer, my app also received at 7.55 AM on July 2nd, signed by R.Williams , but my check not cashed yet, no receipts yet, what a mess....
I know a friend whose application was recieved at 10:45 AM on July 2nd at NSC, he got the receipt number in July III week, our application was received at 8:26 AM on july 2nd, nothing till date, checks haven't been cashed...no updates!!
So dunno how they are picking the applications, anyways there is good news that they are working on the July 2nd applications, and more & more of us are receiving the receipts numbers.:)

Guys good news from my side. Just got most awaited Card production Ordered emails for my wife and my son. I have not received the email for myself though. When I checked the status on Case Status Online site, I found that 485 for all three of us have been approved.
My priority date was Oct 2004 at NSC. Came to US in Feb 2000, so almost 8.5 years of waiting is finally finally over. I hope that NSC picks up the pace and approve all the people who are current.
Trust me!! I am not going anywhere. I will enjoy my green but at the same time will always work relentlessly to get the immigration reforms. I also prey from God almighty that all my friends/family members stuck in EB2/EB3 will also get their GC ASAP.
Wish you all the best, even though I have crossed the fence towards the greener pasture, I am always there to lend you a hand and help you climb up and jump across the fence.

I never came here to study. Have you heard of IIT/REC's in India. I understand there are other colleges/universities in india which your are describing here or u might have studied there but same is true for US as all universities are not A grade. There is a way to tell the fact, not to exaggerate and that too by an indian. if an american say this i can understand that he is ignorant about the facts.

The way this whole thing has turned out to be now is like a challenge or a race where there is no room for values or emotions or in general life and careers.
Many people have taken this as part of life and looked at it as slow sailing clouds and trying to make the best out of it and it has been challenging at every stage.
As such, life is not easy - anywhere in the world. Believe me. Those who get lucrative jobs in India or elsewhere does not necessarily mean they are doing great and better.
The best one can make out of any situation is independent thinking and self introspection. Can we do something to make things better? Are our vlices heard loud? Is there anything that can be done? What have I contributed? have I done anything to make things better for us?
It is we, who form the society and if we are suffering, we have to blame ourselves for our inaction. In tough situations, we need to come out of the "grass green on the other side" attitude and see how we can improve the situation ourselves.
The way things have turned out to our kinds is that we have been set to fail - that is the kind of system we are in now.
Apart from immigration, for an average American, burning issues are economy, jobs, terrorism, war and healthcare - a lot of people die because they cannot afford healthcare and reform is nowhere near.
Can we all unite and make ourselves heard? Can we make ourselves credible enough that we are heard and a part of the process rather than kept away from it? The answer is in us and the choice is ours. Look at history on how were and how things changed. History is not only to study, one has to make history. Can we do it?

If the girl is working and earning money, she has all the rights to spend the way she wants, including giving money to her parents. If she is not working, then help should be based only on humanitarian basis because we never know when one's financial situation changes. I can't understand how any girl can force her husband to spend for her parents and siblings especially when she is not earning.
True, but what i have seen in the past is that the women thinks whatever man earns is to run the family, pay for medical, schools, rent , bills and save for the future of the family and what girl earns is for jewlery dresses or her parents.

Never goto ICICI bank. Only crooks and criminals are working there. No ethics and only inhuman treatment. My friend took a home loan from this bank and he is suffering now.

Can you substantiate how he is suffering ? I also have a home loan through ICICI Bank and have been very happy so far. They have the best service amongst all banks in the country, and so they charge for it. Ultimately its a trade-off - you can decide whether you want to go cheap or require good service.
As some posters pointed out earlier, its extremely easy to apply for a home loan through ICICI Bank sitting here in the US. I dont know of any other Indian banks that would provide you the same level of convenience.

Relax Buddy , now that the bus has come they will keep coming .Most of the people will go in this bus. The dates will retrogress for some time and will be current maybe next year . If not this bus then the next bus . No use raising your blood pressure for this . Attorneys and the media have a habit of scaring people unnecessarily . This Current date is not the end of the world , so take a chill pill ..

These visas last 3 years and after that the nurse has to leave the country. Not that employers don't want to apply for visas, it is just that many nursing positions DO NOT qualify for H1B! Unfortunately, there isn't a fast lane for nurses. If your PD is April 31, 2007, my advise to you is to monitor the monthly Visa Bulletin and once your PD becomes current, you will know that it is just a few months ahead. For now, with the current turn of events, without the fast lane for nurses, you are looking at two years of waiting.

Since you don't know that EB-3 PD was Nov-2001 before it became unavailable it tells me that you are not EB-3 India.

What happens to people on EAD and AP...what would happen to thier status...This law does not make sense..I think it may be for people who have not filed for I-485..
Why take all the approved application and create another backlog..although Congress passes law ..its upto USCIS to intrepret it so that it makes sense to them and then apply it...
It will create unneccesary Choas if people again have to start from scratch after waiting for 5-8 years...and with the back loga they have right now..you can safely assume that this it not affact majority of us
