Hi,
I'm GC holder and i've applied for reentry permit and the validity is 2 yrs.
I've been living in INDIA for the past 10 months and now i want to go back to US.
I'd been filing my taxes and all but was not working for any US company for the past 10 months.
Will there be any issues at the POE when i return to US?..Usually POE officer asks the questions like where do you work and what was the reason you went to INDIA..
Is it Ok to tell the officer that i'm not working?
Please share your thoughts
Thanks in advance
Ram

Former Congressman JD Hayworth is considering a Republican primary challenge against John McCain for his Senate seat. Hayworth was one of the most anti-immigrant members of Congress and was defeated by a pro-immigration Democrat. Now Hayworth intends to use immigration as the wedge issue to defeat McCain. And he might win the nomination if you believe recent polling. Except that he will likely lose a general election for the same reason he lost in 2006. The hardcore anti-immigrant base in the GOP has the power to knock off moderate, pro-immigration Republicans in primary races. But they end up with candidates...

the format of employment date should be "mm/dd/yyyy", or just 'mm/yyyy'?
my last day in my previous employer was a Friday 5/15/2009 and my attorney entered 5/17/2009 (Sunday) as my last day on the LCA coz my first day in my current employer was 5/18/2009.
I am asking my former co-workers to write experience letter for me. Should I let them write '5/15/2009', or '5/17/2009' or just '5/2009' on the letters?
Thanks!

I know this is really stupid but I can't seem to find the answer to this one:
- I am doing a paper filing of 1040. Do I need to send 1040 as a two sided print out or single sided printouts?
The CA 540 specifically says single sided printouts but am not able to find this information for 1040.
Thanks a ton for your help.

I had a quick question on about the package/application that is being used to build this forum ?
Can someone give me the name please ?

Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo each link to my post from Friday. Zackary Roth at TCM also checked with additional immigration lawyers in South Carolina who had similar reports to the ones with whom I spoke. And not to stray too far from the more important question, my friend Marshall Fitz at the Center for American Progress has a new piece refuting the lie that illegally present immigrants are covered by health care reform proposals.

If you are working on H1 then dont renew your AP, you can always travel and enter using your H1. If you plan to use your EAD pretty soon (or your H1 is expiring soon and you dont plan to renew it ) then apply 60 days before you plan to start using EAD and you should be fine.
You can even apply for AP after the current one has expired, its just that you wont be able to travel till you get your new AP if you have abandoned your H1 status.

A reader sent me a link to a post at the The Future of Capitalism blog reminding folks that being pro-immigration fits right in to a conservative agenda: David Cameron, the British "Conservative" Party leader who favors a top income tax rate of 50%, also wants immigration restrictions that would limit Great Britain's population over the next 20 years to 70 million. The Financial Times has an editorial with some reasons this is a bad idea. Here in America, the restrictionist Federation for American Immigration Reform is a bronze sponsor of next month's National Tea Party Convention. Here at FutureOfCapitalism.com,...

This is probably a silly question but I have this really nice logo
designed in photoshop that I want to use in flash but the problem is that everytime that I import this picture to flash I get that white background the picture was saved with.
Does ANYBODY know how to get rid of this background so that I can just use the logo?
Thanks a million, SOMEONE help

I received a status update email from USCIS yesterday on my wife's pending I-485 application. The status says "On November 5, 2007, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 as undeliverable.
The status used to say "application is pending" as recently as a week ago. If some notice had indeed been returned to them, wouldn't the status have changed around Nov 5, 2007? Could this be an erroneous online status change? We completed our FP back in Oct 2007. we have received EAD, AP, etc. on our address properly, and haven't moved.

I am one of those unfortunate guys who missed the July 2007 boat.
Is there any chance of the priority date getting current again (soon) like in July 2007 even for a month?
What do you guys think??
