So you want the people who are working on the initiatives to to go through and read and respond to every individual?

I support the donor idea. But there is no transperency to who is leading what initative. If i want to contribute my time, i have to read through the posts every day for several hours to find who is leading the effort so i can discuss with them. Sometimes i feel there is so much more talk.
Why don't we list out the initiatives that is being considered or worked on. Along with some contact information so people can discuss offline with them. I cannot be online for several hours and read through all the discussions and still not find out who is coordinating the efforts.

Heres the sliver lining of all this immigration mess. Its good for spiritual development. I came here 10 years ago in mid 20s. My understanding of Indian philosophy was rudimentary at best. Now I have found reading and meditating on the meaning of Gita is one of the best ways for me to deal with the GC mess, and life in general. anyway, i just wanna ask about what you said earlier.. is it true that there are some August scheduled embassy interviews being cancelled? what did those people you know exactly said about this?

Yeah, PD is April 2005 EB3ROW, and its just frustrationg when you see a lot getting their approvals with a much later PD's. He was scheduled for interview in Aug. she already recieved her packet 4 when Aug vb came out and reinstated July VB. I knew that it had something to do with July vb fiasco since he got his packet 4 after July 2. There were no visas left for that time, so AUg. vb doesn't really matter.

We cannot start a S-corp on EAD. Need to be GC holder or US Citizen.
The Internal Revenue Code provides that a Corporation filed with any U.S. state shall be taxed under "Subchapter C." This essentially means that all Corporations start out as C-Corporations for tax purposes.
Should a Corporation's owners later wish to be taxed as an S-Corporation, they would file a "Subchapter S" federal tax election (Form 2553) within 75 days of incorporating or within 75 days of the beginning of the calendar year. To do this, the Corporation would need to have less than 100 owners, all of whom must be either U.S. Citizens or permanent resident aliens ("green card" holders). Once the "S" tax election is made, the return to be filed is the 1120 "S", rather than the 1120. Whether or not you decide to be taxed as an S-Corporation, your company is still a "General Corporation" in the eyes of the state of incorporation.

The people America would really be concerned about are outstanding researchers, but then these people fall in the EB1 category which is always current and so they have no cause for complaint. The other category that the US is concerned about is cheap and illegal labor, but that is not related to GCs. So in short, there is nothing about the Eb2/Eb3 GC backlog that America needs to worry about.
The delay causes anxiety & frustration only for us applicants. So the impact is only on us.
Every year H1B quota is getting filled withing few days to a week. Majority of H1B applicants eventually land up applying GC in EB2/EB3 category, so america has nothing to lose as it keeps getting the workforce it needs every year.
Now, in an unlikley scenario in 2009 the H1B quota doesn't get filled then we can say that america is losing.

This bulletin does prove that very few labor certificaions were done in 2005, due to move to PERM.
And those who had applied in PERM in 2005, got their GCs already..
I know a few who applied in PERM as soon it was introduced and got their

Entire world is turning up against immigration. It is beyond individual/group control to lobby for changes in that area.
It is on the threshold of the time. Right now we as individuals still can make a decision to continue to be in US and wait it out or go back to our home country.
But if this trend continues, I am afraid, some new law will make that decision for us to send us all back. It is just around the corner. Worst part is we can't do a thing about that.
So want to blame anyone, blame your politicians of your native country for creating such a mess that people wanted to move to a different country.

in our home country we have hard time to walk in cities because of exploding population.
Hard to get clean water, air, milk and everything else
Education system is detoriating day by day because of privatization, private institutions only look for profit and dont care mostly for their students. Fortunately they have billion people to get customers. Our engineers are mostly unemployable
Property values are rising to extreme level beyond affordability of common man. Poverty rate is increasing day by day. Agriculture is detoriating and we are not a manufactuting masters. Our engineers are getting poor in quality day by day and scientist get frustated every day because of injust system so try to migrate every where else. We can never survive as country creating softwares or answering calls for long time. It might serve us for short period.
Morality. Corruption, attitude of peoples and so-called social net work (which is even more selfish then US) are even hard to compare with other countries where relations and systems are more open and frank. In our home country on surface every thing looks good but if you try to look below it is hard to say how supefecious it is.
so in short if we are hear only because we wanted GC, then we should leave in next flight to home. But if you have seen any other advantages of being here then hangin, GC will come. Dont wait for GC every day, just live your life and enjoy it to full extent.

I am keeping an eye on the funding drive... and it seems that there is progress but somewhat slow. I think we need new ideas to promote the same. What about giving IV T-Shirts to all those who contribute $100+ for our 20K to 50K drive?
