The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB-3 India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FY 2008 quota kicks in.

Illegal immigration (of course) is really hot in the VA area. They have had rally's and other events that were reported on front page of Washington Post.
I am locating those reporters. It would help if we read those articles and write something based on the content. Something like: since you reported their rally, please report ours.

Don't get me wrong. There are so many good lawyers. I have talked to few of them who are reputed and didn't even charge me for my first call. Made another $100 contribution today. I hope that all members now realize that IV is doing a great job of addressing our issues and finally coming up with some results. This is just the beginning and the member contribution will determine how much more IV can accomplish. If we all don't join forces and contribute one way or the other, 8 or 10 core members alone can't do much.
Membership and their contribution is the real strength of core team and if either one of those dries up, IV will no longer exist and all EB folks will once again become the step child of immigration process and no one will care about us. We have a voice now through IV, people know that we exist and realize the legal immigration process is badly broken and needs repair. Government and politicians have taken notice and agree that there is a problem with legal immigration. This is very significant. If we would like to continue this fight, contribution is a must.
For those who are still hesitating to contribute, there is always that F5 (refresh) key which you can keep pressing and hope that some how pressing that F5 key enough times will result in some relief. You folks have more faith on that F5 key than IV and I wish you good luck with your green card process. Once you do get your green card, please let us know how many times did you have to press that key to get a green card. That will set the bar for the future generation of EB applicants.

We're much better off here in the US when you compare our compatriots suffering in Britain. Britain has enforced a lot more regulations on immigrants, much to their chagrin.

That's exactly the point..USCIS is HEADED by fools...the problem lies within...the heads dont really care if their staff is underpaid and over-worked..but the fact of it is that they just don't have the money nor manpower to get the work done. When USCIS adjudicated all those cases in 2002, it was not of their own volition but because Congress mandated it..6 years later they dont care for the immigrants..u think they'd (policy makers) care 2 hoots for the the USCIS officers...just take a look at the Infopass centers...from my experience I havent seen more than 2 officers helping customers at a time..no money..no manpower

Who the hell are you EB2 people to decide that we cannot interfile? Anyway you guys can jump and crib, nothing is going to happen. There are some stupid morons arguing that Eb2's are more qualified, what a farce! Eb3 guys have been waiting longer than EB2 guys for the most part. Core team may not like this but I can understand your point. There is a communication gap between IV Core team and members. Core team wants to hide everything they are doing assuming that anti are reading the forum and they will know what we are doing. On other side members feel uncomfortable as nothing comes out as solid / strong plan of action. There were couple of instances were I personally felt that core talks too much among themselves and release almost zero information to members, it may be good for community overall but not good for an organization where everyone is participating directly or indirectly. By recent posts by Pappu, I think they are improving.
We need to give them a chance as anyways their act is selfless. They may be lagging in personal management but they are not bad by heart or doing anything for personal benefit.
With all due respect to the selfless hard work of IV core, I concur with ItIsNotFunny. There are many members who feel this way. IV core should be more open to members. I feel a cloud of secrecy always surrounding IV. Of course they cannot be public about all their activities, but more needs to be done on this front. You will see more members actively participating if core is more open.

Why this fight for EB2 vs EB3..
ideally GC should be given based on one's arrival in US or based on first filing of GC..irrespective of which category u r
keeping that in mind, it doesn't matter, if u r EB2 or EB3 or if u r porting the date..because in either way..one will get GC (luck is still a factor) based on number of years in US or years since GC process started.
given a chance and if permissible under the law, most of us would want to switch to EB1..or even change the birthplace..to avoid this mess..but then it is too difficult to switch to EB1 compared to switching from EB3 to EB2. one would always take the least resistive path and it is right as long as it is not illegal under the current law..(oh..no..don't talk about morality..because when personal interests are at stake..nothing matters..for most of us)
anyway..they have successfully created enough divisions among ourselves EB1,2,3...row...the bright side of eb3 to eb3 porting is..that everyone will become eb2 and then we will stand united..hopefully..but then we will have divisions..eb2 before this year..eb2 originally filed..eb2 with masters from us..eb2 with 5 yrs of experience..eb2 with two masters...eb2 with fair screen..eb2 with black skin..
we have been always like that..divided and self centric and we will remain so and that's why u can see those blood sucking idiots can kill as at their will because we are not indians..but..from up, bihar, gujarat..from castes..region.language..list is endless but then we have never learnt anything from history..that's why ruled by minorities for most of the years in last 2000yrs history..

I don't think EB3-I would be U for more than a month, as I keep saying this year EB3 would be getting some share of spill-over. So even if it becomes U for April that would be temporarily and it would return back in May.

For the first time one article connects our needs to what Americans are interested in; Homeland security.
Guys, not to say that they should approve cases without background check but are you sure this will not turn against us if they associate USCIS being efficient (approving cases faster) with them taking shortcuts and give GC to people who are a threat ??
Everybody here wants some of those "reserved" (already taken for cases not yet approved) visas to be available again but nobody thinks what this will do to us in the long run because some might read the news and conclude that USCIS just gives green cards to people that might be a threat.
As for my angle on this, I did not file yet so I have no case pending waiting to be approved....

All numbers available to these categories under the FY-2007 annual numerical limitation have been made available

all visa number (for FY-2007) are used up. They were made available to USCIS by DoS.
